The BTECH HND IT batch 24 of British College of Applied Studies has hatched an idea to organize a cricket tournament amongst the batches at BCAS and outsiders (Limited crowd only), the event was initiated by our lecturer Mr. Anis Saboordeen. We take pleasure in presenting this project to the management of BCAS for approval. The main objective of this cricket tournament is to build fellowship amongst the students at BCAS and also we are confident that this project will help us to implement our extracurricular activity program as we are in the final semester.
We also wish to emphasize that the HND batch 24 will be responsible for organizing this event and all our activities and planning with regard to this project will be coordinated and monitored by our HND-IT coordinator Mr. Priyantha Herath.
Tournament Details
Selection Criteria
· For a batch maximum of two teams can be register.
· Cannot combine two batches to make a team.
· Age unlimited for BCAS students.
· For each team Rs. 600/= will be charge as entrance fee.
· For BCAS Staff the registration fee will be free.
Selection Criteria for “24 Queens” Girls Tournament
· Can combine two or more batches to form a team.
· Can form a team with lectures and Students. In this situation organization committee will decide about the entrance fee.
· For each team Rs. 600/= will be charge as entrance fee.
· For BCAS Staff the registration fee will be free.
Selection Criteria for Outsiders
· Limited to first 20 teams.
· Age limit is under 23 years.
· Captain should submit certification of the players on the registration event (a form will be provide in the registration day, the captain should fill it with necessary details like NIC number of the players).
· For each team Rs. 1200/= will be charge as entrance fee.
Rules & Regulations
· Common Cricket Rules.
· No LBW out.
· 2 Runs per “Wide” and “No ball” and balls are not countable in that over.
· Over step No ball will be given as a “Free Hit”.
· Per over, only one bouncer is allowed. If it is repeated on the same over that will be consider as “No ball”.
24 Blasters Rules
· Knockout tournament.
· Six (06) players per team.
· Six (06) over per side.
· Four (04) balls per over.
· All the six players should bowl one over each, but
“One person from the bowling side should bowl an over that consist of ‘Chuck’ with no action, no run up”.
· Draw of the tournament will be made by the Organizers.
· The Organizing committee is the responsible for disqualification of any teams in the case of any issues.
· The final decision will be made by the umpires for the matches.
Dress Codes
Any suitable sportswear (Bottom and T-Shirt).
